Thomas Staehelin

Partner + Zone | Expert in social innovation

Switzerland; as the responsible partner, he leads the +zone research lab and +zoneINSIDE, is an author and speaker, and is sought after for his UX analyses, solution workshops, and lectures.

His main areas of work are social intelligence in digitalization, positive resilience and social innovation, the transformation of work, and healthy performance cultures. The targeted integration of findings from neuroscience, behavioral economics, and evolutionary biology into innovation management, UX design, and solution and culture development describes the by-design approach of +zone research. His personal focus: evolution and creativity in human development.

He studied social sciences, then worked in complexity and stress research and ran a systemic practice; did independent theater and cabaret and produced films, features, collages, and exhibition projects; developed concepts and methods for change-by-design initiatives; and led award-winning performance programs on behalf of international companies and organizations. After intensive years as a facilitator, researcher, and organizational developer with his companies klip AG für Unternehmensentwicklung and skp, personal crises, and other surprises, he started the +zone initiative in 2004. Today, alongside his role as spokesperson of the corporate group and partner for research + facilitation, he works as co-editor of the Flow_Zone EDITION, and as speaker and moderator of the labTalks and nightLectures series.

Memberships and initiatives: IPPA (International Positive Psychology Association) and member of the Institute of HeartMath (IHM). As a Curious Mind + Solution Artist he supports Creative Commons (CC), the OER initiative, Wikipedia, the social-business program, and is a board member of NewWork NewCulture.Networks (Ann Arbor/USA), founded by Prof. Frithjof Bergmann.
